The Current Ongoing War
There are currently a couple of wars going on in the world, and I’ll go into details of each (with the help of ChatGPT).
Ukraine–Russia War: Ongoing since 2022, with no end in sight. Western support for Ukraine continues, but there’s fatigue and shifting political winds.
Israel–Hamas / Middle East: The Israel-Gaza war has destabilized the region. There’s a real risk of escalation involving Iran, Hezbollah, or even the U.S.
China–Taiwan tensions: China is increasing military pressure. The situation hasn’t tipped into open war, but it’s the most likely flashpoint in the Indo-Pacific.
North Korea: Frequent missile tests, military drills with South Korea and the U.S., and recent constitutional changes ramp up long-term instability.
U.S.–China rivalry: Strategic competition over trade, technology, and military presence. Not an outright war, but a cold-war-like dynamic is underway.
